Welcome To Samsung
Restore the thermal performance and subcooling efficiency of your outdoor unit with the Samsung Air Conditioner Subcooler Tube Assembly DB96-18615A. This specialized copper piping component is part of the refrigeration circuit, designed to further cool the liquid refrigerant before it reaches the expansion valve. By increasing the degree of subcooling, the assembly ensures that the refrigerant remains in a pure liquid state, which significantly improves the systems overall cooling capacity and energy efficiency. A damaged or leaking subcooler tube can lead to hissing noises, oil spots on the piping, and a loss of cooling performance due to refrigerant discharge.
The DB96-18615A is manufactured from high-quality, refrigeration-grade copper with precision-engineered bends to fit the compact internal layout of the outdoor unit. It features factory-brazed joints and may include integrated capillary tubes or heat exchanger sections designed to optimize pressure drops and thermal transfer.
Installation / Replacement Instructions
Warning: Subcooler tube replacement involves handling high-pressure refrigerants and specialized brazing. This should only be performed by a certified HVAC professional.
1. Safety and Recovery: Turn off all power to the unit at the disconnect box. Use a refrigerant recovery machine to safely remove the existing refrigerant charge from the system according to local environmental regulations.
2. Access the Internals: Remove the top and side panels of the outdoor condenser unit to expose the internal refrigeration piping and the subcooler assembly.
3. Locate the Assembly: Identify the DB96-18615A within the liquid line circuit. It is typically found between the condenser coil outlet and the electronic expansion valve.
4. Unbraze the Connections: Use an oxy-acetylene torch to unbraze the joints connecting the subcooler tube to the rest of the system. Protect surrounding wires and plastic components with a heat shield or wet rags.
5. Install the New Tube: Position the new DB96-18615A into place, ensuring the ends are properly aligned with the existing lines. Clean the connection points with an abrasive pad for a better seal.
6. Braze and Leak Test: Braze the joints while flowing nitrogen through the piping to prevent internal carbon buildup. Once the joints have cooled, pressurize the system with nitrogen and use a leak detection spray to verify all connections are airtight.
7. Evacuation and Charging: Use a vacuum pump to pull the system down to at least 500 microns. Once the vacuum is held, recharge the system with the exact weight of refrigerant specified on the units nameplate.
8. Verify Operation: Restore power and start the unit. Check the liquid line temperature to ensure the subcooler is functioning correctly and providing the necessary thermal drop.
Compatible with select Samsung outdoor inverter units, this OEM-quality subcooler tube assembly restores the precision refrigerant management and high cooling efficiency of your system.
